I'd like to share with you all a slightly embarrassing- but thought provoking- experience I had today: I went on my bi-weekly cycling trip to the closest beach from my home (36 kms away) where there are few people and there is a chance of spotting one or two (if you're lucky!) of those rare creatures: Nudists. I like to let it all hang out while I'm there. The local males usually fit into one of two categories, #1. tolerant and #2. curious. But, today I discovered that there is a third category- albeit for a different gender admittedly, and upon reflection, it's quite an eye-opener.
Anyway, today I arrived at the beach at about 10am and only saw a couple of fishermen (who invariably fit into category 1 above), so I got my kit off and went for a well-earned dip in the cool and calm sea. It was a hot day today, even by Thailand's standards.
I was secretly hoping that I'd meet one or two category 2 men today, but alas, no such luck! I was about to call it a day at around 3pm and went for one last swim to cool off for the long trip home. While I was swimming, a group of three middle-aged ladies came out from the woods only about 50 meters away from me and came in to the water. I'm sure they had no idea I was naked, otherwise there's no way they would have shared the same bit of water as a nude westerner!
Now I was in a bit of a dilemma: what to do? Stay in the water and hope they don't stay too long or cover my pride-and-joy with my hands and run up the beach to grab my cycling shorts? Well, I went with the first plan, or at least for the first hour anyway! I was starting to look like a prune at this time, so plan 2 was put into action. My things were quite a way from where I was, so it was a fair dash to get there. While I was running up the slope from the water to the dry sand, I was spotted! I was waiting for some cusses and verbal abuse in Thai, but instead I got cheers and laughs!!! I waived to the exhilarated ladies (with one hand, the other was still covering my manhood) who then cheered louder and talked excitedly. I didn't wait around to hear what they were saying, but instead I was on my bike, quite literally!
Now I'd better explain what Thai women are normally like: younger ladies are shy to the extreme and would instantly remove themselves from a situation involving anything remotely suggestive or sexual (some of you may be under the wrong impression that 'all Thai ladies are hookers', let me assure you that there could be nothing further from the truth).
It has been a long-standing theory of mine that ladies of more senior years are the code-of-conduct rule-setters for society (hence the negative aura regarding man to man relationships; all women despise competition). So older women- according to my theory- 'should' be even less tolerant/accepting of anything like the situation they encountered today. Now I'm at a bit of a loss with what to believe.
Anyone have a new theory?
