The Story so far
If you have read my previous Blog, then you will know I had an idea to build my own spanking machine after being inspired by a video on the internet. Using a combination of 3D printing, woodwork, metal folding and some purchased parts, I bult an auto spanking machine that was moderately successful. Looking to make some improvements on my design I embarked on Spanking Machine Mk2

Eureka moment
The spanking machines you can buy use a reciprocal motion to deliver the blow, my Mk1 swung a leather belt in a rotary motion powered by a 12v motor. So, I designed a mechanism to turn the rotary motion of my motor into a back-and-forth motion, but this looked complicated to make and I like to keep things simple. So after deep thinking and a few bees I had a light bulb moment.
The timer PCB I purchased had a second function the acted as an on / off switch. Once triggered the PCB would switch on and off and the time for period for the on or off could be adjusted, but the trigger needed to be activated to stop the timer. To make my machine automatic I would need a second timer and I had one sitting on a shelf in my workshop. It was a 240V plug in timer I use for controlling the lights at Christmas. All I needed to do was plug my 12V power supply into the timer and set a on and off time. sorted

The setup and test
A little bit of rewiring was needed so that when the power was turned on for the timer PCB it activated the elector magnet on the stocks, then I could start the motor be pulling on the trigger.
The motor was repositioned so it would strike in a down wood motion and the striker returned to an upright position be use of an elasticated cord (also known as a bungy). Timing was adjusted and 2 seconds on 5 second off was found to work well. The leather belt I used on the Mk1 didn’t work on this setup, so I needed another striker. I had a plastic whip I made for my MK1 machine in my reject bin, it was too vicious for the rotary motion and could have caused some injury, but with the slower speed on the reciprocal motion it was fine.

Play time take 2
The unmanned test worked well and a short maned test with no restraints also worked so now was the time for the real thing. Time was set to run for 7 minutes, and I gave my self 3 minuets to get in position and secure the staps. So, with legs and body firmly strapped to my weight bench, I placed my hands in the stocks and closed the latch and waited for the timer to start. The stocks locked with a click and indicator light on the PCB come on, all I need to do was pull the trigger and nothing.! I couldn’t believe it, it had worked every time during all the test runs, and now I was stuck till the timer switched of the power, Bugger. When I was finally released, a quick investigation found the trigger not pushing the microswitch properly, a small adjustment was caried out and all was good again. So, timer was reset this time for 10 minutes and only gave 2 minutes to get strapped in. This time it worked, and the plastic whip was set in motion. The surprising thig was not all the strokes were the same intensity, some were as expected but some were stronger and some more gentle, I think this was because the bungy didn’t return the whip to the same starting place each time.
By the time the power was switched off and I was released from the stocks I was already thinking of improvements. I needed some way to move the motor to spread out the impact zone, a more reliable return mechanism, and possibly more power for the motor, a Mk3 is on the drawing board as I write this
