The Story of Us- our first meet.

Hubby and I first started dating when we were younger. It didn’t last forever back then, like we thought, but over the years we found each other again and again until it finally stuck. I can still remember the first time I saw him sixteen years ago, it’s an image that will always be burned into my mind. A friend of a friend thought we would be a good match and wanted to introduce us. I remember her describing him as a “good country boy”, not that I was particularly good, or country myself. He was coming over that day to meet me with the friend. I heard the knock at the door; the dog started barking. I was standing in the middle of my room, a ball of nerves. I knew I couldn’t hide down there forever like a weirdo, so I forced myself to take one step and then another. I went upstairs and he was standing just inside the front door, totally not what I was expecting at all. He gave me that grin that I’ve come to know so well over the years. I didn’t know it at the time, but my life was instantly changed in that moment.
