Why Do We Create Profiles?

Why do we create a profile and select Who, What and Where we are looking for?
I swearswear NO ONE reads them, cause if the did, they wouldn't be asking me to be their lifelong partner who just so happens to live on the other side of the country or even in another country!
If you see a profile that you think is particularly pretty or interesting, but clearly see that the person is not looking for the same thing or only wants something in a certain area, or for a specific sexual orientation, give them a thumbs up, say Hi or compliment them. Don't continually hound them about wanting to be their unicorn, or insist on being willing to travel.
READ, be CONSIDERATE and for Christ sake if you are that damn thirsty, go get a bottle of water!
