Our first swapping experience

It was in the early of 2017. I remember all started on a lazy Sunday evening. Tagore songs from my playlist streamed out of the living room speakers as I made coffee for both of us. We had nowhere to go this evening. It seemed like ages since we had spent a quiet weekend at home, neither going out nor entertaining anybody at home. Just the two of us. And it felt serene. Relaxed. Peaceful. As is our won’t, we were working together in the kitchen. Ritu was referring to a recipe book, as she prepared the various ingredients for a special dish, while I was dicing and slicing all the veggies that constitute my favourite Greek salad. We always enjoy the bonding experience of working together in the kitchen. We chat about our day as we prepare a sumptuous and hearty meal, to be devoured later over watching together the latest flick or listening to our favourite music, at the end of a long tiring day. And today being a weekend, there was no rush to wind up early. I could already feel that this evening was going to end on a very romantic note. By the time we finished our meal we were both feeling good. My mobile buzzed. It was a message from Neel , my close friend from work. Ritu and Neel's wife Neha are friends. Neel had been pushing us to go on a holiday to Darjeeling next weekend and it seems he had found some good online deal. The deal looked good so I gave him the thumbs up to go ahead with the bookings. As soon as I told Ritu about the trip plans getting finalised she grinned naughtily. “So now you will have the opportunity to ogle her. I know why you agreed to this trip with them,” she winked. Normally I would have blushed and protested but due to romantic evening I couldn't “. Why not? But don’t think that I haven’t noticed how the mere mention of his name turns you so naughty and horny in bed,” I countered. Normally I would have blushed and protested but the wine had made me reckless, “Do you think they too think about us as we do about them?” “All couples do,” was her reply. What makes you an authority on all couples? Oh, I guess their wives come and confide in you,” I remarked a bit sarcastically. “What? How do you know? “She admitted to me while we were at Megamart last week. What’s more, she told me that even Neel likes me a lot.” I couldn’t believe my ears. The woman at the centre of my fantasies had a crush on me. I felt elated. Suddenly, I remembered how Neel had casually mentioned an online dating site where couples posted their profiles to meet together in an intimate setting. He had mentioned that he too had recently made his profile there and got friend requests from all sorts of people. He even encouraged me to join this website. And what was the word he was using? Swapping! I had thought it was just a passing phase. That is, until now. Things suddenly fell into place. Neha mentioning her interest in me to Ritu, Neel telling me about this swapping site, the weekend trip plans. I discussed my hunch with Ritu. At first, she found it preposterous that Neel and Neha were interested in swapping with us. However, the more we discussed it, the more probable it seemed. Finally, she asked me point-blank, “Do you want to do it with her?” I knew this was the moment of truth. Restraining my excitement, I tried to reply as calmly as possible, “Only if you will allow me to. And are you ready to get intimate with Neel?” “I don’t know. This is too much of development all of a sudden. Fantasizing about it was okay but to actually do it …” she trailed off. “See if we ever were to do such a thing with someone, I can’t think of a better-looking couple and closer friends than them.”“I know, but what if this affects our friendship?”

“Exactly. Our friendship is so strong that they are the ideal people to try this with. We have fantasized about them so much in bed. Isn’t it time to do the real thing?” Shweta didn’t reply immediately. But I got her answer later in our bedroom. The unparalleled passion of our lovemaking told me that our discussion had planted a seed in her mind. As we both climaxed simultaneously I felt closer then ever to her in life. Next morning, I called up Neel to finalise the finer details of trip. Before hanging up, I mentioned casually that I was making a profile on the website he had mentioned, The Adult Hub. There was a stunned silence followed by a sheepish laugh from him. I realised that what we were embarking upon would need a lot of honesty and open communication between all four of us. Little did I know that it would test the limits of our relationships more than I could have ever imagined. The site prompted us to describe what we were looking for in a couple. We had a hearty laugh as Ritu poured her heart out describing Sylvester Stallone and I visualised an Angelina Jolie lookalike as we typed it out. We saved our profile and Ritu started browsing other profiles, “My God, this is a world of its own. Look at the pictures of this couple.” The profiles we browsed were arousing her, as her breath quickened, and her hands massaged my back. We had a fantasy of couple swapping. There were so many abbreviations and new terms that we became familiar with as the messages flew back and forth. ASL, SRSP, SWAP, RP, Bulls, Unicorns…it was a whole new game. It was getting late. We signed off after promising sweet_couple that we’d get in touch soon. Next morning, at the airport, there was different chemistry between the four of us when we hugged each other. Neha was wearing a colourful crop top and a skirt. I couldn’t help stealing a glance at her model-perfect body. Normally I compliment her whenever we meet. But today, I was tongue-tied. “She looked hot,” remarked Ritu, as we entered our room at the resort. I knew who she was referring to. “So, are you ready to go ahead if something happens?” I asked nonchalantly. “Dunno. Are YOU?” she parried. Neither of us answered, but we both knew this trip was different. A message from Neel popped up on my mobile, “Let’s meet at 7 pm in the lounge.” I sent him a thumbs up. It pinged again, “BTW, did you make that profile on The Adult Hub?” I smiled and sent a second thumbs up and a smiley. I got a big smiley in response. We both knew we were on the same wavelength now. The game was on. We had just ordered our cocktails when Neel and Neha walked in. As I hugged her more tightly and longer than I usually do, her cheeks turned pink. We chatted generally when suddenly Neel remarked,” So how did you like the website?” “Oh, it’s a completely new world,” Ritu chimed in, even before I could think of a proper response. That set the ball rolling. Soon, we were giggling and discussing the profiles we saw there. As the evening progressed, the electricity between us was palpable. I could read desire in Neha's eyes and I am sure she could see it in mine. All four of us knew that there was only one way this evening was going to end. In bed. And for two out of four, probably not in the beds in our rooms. The dance began and soon we were dancing with each other’s partners. It seemed natural. As we danced to a slow number, I couldn’t help asking Neha “Do you like me?” “Of course, four of us are best friends, right?” She replied looking into my eyes. “No, not like that. I meant do you feel attracted to me?” She lowered her eyes and smiled. I felt elated. Neel opened his room still holding Ritu's hands and in a tone reminiscent of a cheesy Hindi film villain asked, “Mind if I borrow your wife for some time?” “Not at all as long as I am spending some quality time with this beautiful lady here,” I answered naughtily. He guffawed and didn’t even bother to answer as he entered his room with Ritu in tow. As the door closed behind the two of them, I looked again at Neha. She looked into my eyes. “Are we going to stand outside the room all night?” she asked. I pushed open the door and we went in together. Our partner swapping agenda was complete that day.
