Hey everyone,

We’re aware that less than savoury characters using the site for negative agenda have been changing the tactics which they are using. Below is an example of an email that was reported by one of our genuine members. This email by no means exhausts a comprehensive list of the factors which you can expect to be aware of or exactly resembles what they may send through. However, it does give you a good idea of some of the elements of the possible deceitful tactics which they may attempt.

We have broken this email down into points that should be considered warning signs to be cautious. Refer to the correlating number’s description given below.

1.Incorrect spelling/ bad grammar - We maintain a high standard for any of our communications with you, whereas with fakes, there will often be spelling and grammatical mistakes. They want to get their message to you with minimal effort and less time, so spelling and grammar is not top of their priorities.

2.Suspect Email Addresses - As we’ve mentioned in previous safety awareness content, the only emails we will contact you from end in the extension @thehubpeople.com with no variance on how this extension looks, no matter how small.

3.You Don’t Need To Prove Yourself To Us - As also previously mentioned within our awareness content, the only instances where you would need to verify yourselves would be to verify your email address following registering your profile on the site or if you wish to become admin verified. If you have any questions on either of these instances, please get in touch with the site Helpdesk staff.

4.We Don’t Need Your Information - Once you’re a member of the site, we don’t need anymore information from you. Never share your card, banking details, login details or anything of a sensitive nature with anyone off site.

5.Once You Have A Profile That is Passed, You Don’t Need To Go Anywhere - Contrary to what they’re saying here about gaining access, once you’ve become a member of the site and your profile is successfully passed by our moderation team, you don’t need to go anywhere to use your profile and browse the site. We always advise to stay within the safety of the site as much as is possible, we can recall any communication between two members on the site should we need to investigate any wrongful doing. This is why they’re so eager to get you off-site. Don’t give them what they want!

6.We Do Not Send Dodgy URLs
This is an example of a low quality URL, you will always be able to see the name of our site within our URL. Should you be receiving mail which you are unsure about, you can hover over the link and see a preview of the URL’s address. This is usually at the bottom of your browser page depending on what browser you may be using.

Our highest priority is keeping our genuine members safe, so as aforementioned, stay on the site as much as possible and always be aware. Please read through the rest of our Stay Safe content which can be accessed by clicking the widget on your homepage to keep yourself in the know and report anyone who you find suspicious. For details on reporting suspicious activity or for other information on what to look out for, this can all be found within our StaySafe content or by asking our Helpdesk staff.

By maintaining this awareness and through our combined efforts, admin and members, we can thwart the efforts of these unsavoury characters and keep our happy, sexy haven!
