On this day in 18 forty seven (the site censors 19th century dates - go figure) Samuel Colt sold his first revolver to the United States Government. I don't know if anyone has ever held a Colt 45, they are deceptively heavy and a beautiful piece of engineering and design.

Having said that though, it was manufactured as a means of maiming, injuring or killing so not really sure if the day itself requires a moment of celebration and thanks or one of sad reflection. These meanderings of a slightly drunken mind have no relevance on a site like this but, as I'm not getting any, was thinking I needed something to take my mind off sex so ....
