Cleopatra - Been there, done that !

Last Saturday was one memorable day in our life. My wife had been telling me that she wants to go see a night club. Yes.. she'd never been to one till now.. although I would not call this a night club. Gone are the days of The BlueElephant, MyKindofPlace, Library, LittleHut.. the ,"discotheque nightclubs."

Located in the basement of the famous shopping mall that was more famous for the, "Fourth floor." Ya, the Liberty cinema is next to it.. hint hint..

They call these night clubs, "Karaoke Bars." I told my friends about my wife's inquisitiveness to see a night club and my ability to find any because the three four places I knew those days (mentioned in para one) are dead and gone. My friend said, "Ok, let's go tonight !" I asked what to wear.
He said, "Just jeans and T-shirt for me and short cut jeans and a skinny for my wife. At about 1am, we met near Vihara Maha Devi park, and we followed their car. My wife in short cut jeans, full legs exposed, a tight skinny and deck shoes. I'm on a black jeans with a T-shirt and just casual shoes. My friend and his adorable wife chaperoned us as we did not even know this place existed !! Talk about being upto date. We are busy with our day to day life, routine chores and job.

Entrance ticket was just half a green note for a couple. For a single guy it's one green note. Cheap ? Not really, cos it comes with strings attached. A couple has to buy drinks or food worth five green notes! Same applies if a single guy goes in. I don't know if single ladies are given free entrance or if they have comply to the five green note food/drink condition. I did not ask.

So we go in. The bouncers looked professional. One bouncer and a lady host took us straight to the bar. They will make sure they are with you till you buy the drinks and any bites from the bar. Then they will take you and find a place to sit and make sure that you are comfortable before they go back. It sure felt like first class treatment.. well they have to.. we (the two couples) spent ten green notes on two bottles of red wine and some cashew nut bites. The wine may not have been worth more than one green note.

So, the place was smoky but I think it had a damn good ventilation system. You could see the other side of the hall although it was quite dark ! The dance floor was right smacking in the middle of the place. Well lit. The music was mainly Bollywood stuff. Then there were about Fifteen fair skinned (fair skin must be a pre-qualification to get this job), young ladies in very colourful eye pleasing belly dancing clothes on the floor. Dancing away to the music. Some were average built but all of them had cute pleasant faces and always with a smile. Then there were a few with very super hot sexy perfect bodies.. and yes.. very cute as well. The kind that one would grab and run away with !

So what was the action? The girls were dancing.. some were rolling on the floor. Then you get all the single guys around the dancing floor.. drunk enjoying what they see. There were four huge bouncers in the four corners of the dance floor. They have strong flash lights. If anyone takes a video with the camera lights on, the bouncers will point you with their flash lights.. and you can see the beam like a laser comming at your face. The bouncers will not allow anyone to touch the girls... Well, except for one condition. There were two guys in the two sides of the dance floor. They both were holding loads of flower garlands in both their hands. And the flower garlands were not small. The kind they put on ministers ! So one has to buy flower garlends from one of these guys (cost half a green note) and then you are allowed to go upto the girl, put the garland on her, hug her or kiss her and come back. Some girls were filled with probably a dozen or two garlends. They have to unload them very often before they could continue dancing. Apparently the girls gets a commission on each garland they get from the spectators. So there must be a system or a few guys there counting these for each girl. There is no way that these girls keep count .. it happens so fast!!!

So we were sipping the wine and enjoying the new experiences we saw, guys spending the cash on the garlands just to touch the girl !! I'm sure there must be more to it than just putting the garlands on them.
Maybe the guy who puts the most garland gets the girl ? I'm not sure. I was told by my friend that the girls are not allowed to do so. Why were these guys busting all their weekly earnings on garlands ? Beats me.

My friend and his wife excused us and went to the toilet. The most bizzare thing happened as soon as they came back to the seat. One of the hot, sexy cute dancing girls just came to our table and did her erotic dancing movement in front of us .. to us!! Out of nowhere ! I did not know what it entailed but that chick was hot, sexy and horny. If I were allowed, I would have done her then and there !! Just to say the feeling. Not that I'd do it. You do get that fantasy provided she was clean. Get what mean ?

So she went away and I asked my friend, "What the hell was that ?" He said he'll tell when we go out cos this was a noisy place and taking to each other is not the easiest to do. You need to shout or just go upto the ear and talk.. not convenient. When we were going out, my friend related the incident. He said that this dancing girl saw his wife near the toilet exit and had told his wife that she likes her and given her a kiss. Then she followed them to our table and did the seducing dance ! So I was guessing.. if his wife liked her, then theoretically there could have been a mechanism to exchange numbers and get in touch with her !!

I got to admit.. we did not see a lot of couples. Maybe five six but all were seated. There may have been more on the dark corners, busy. Other the dancing girls, there were some girls.. some may have been professionals. Then the rest we're mostly, half drunk guys sober enough to buy garlands and put on the girls. Most of the guys ( Ninety 😵 were not from an ethnicity one would expect them to be there busting the cash. I will not mention it here, but it was shocking.

The DJ will stop the music for the dancing girls and put on normal music for people to dance. For the two hours we were there.. they only put two normal music. Not many danced for the normal music.. only us two cpls and about four girls and about seven or eight guys danced. So the dancing floor was virtually empty. It was funny to notice how three of the guys danced. They were scratching each others hair in a trio dance!! It was so awkward and funny. We had something to laugh at !

Just one song for us and guess what.. music for the dancing girls started again . This time, it was the Hindi Nagina music. One dancing girl (who was on jeans and was having an average body) started to do the snake dance, rolling and curling. The others girls joined once this girl did this solo. Maybe she was not one of the dancing girls and some guys requested her to show.

Got to say, the place was full of bouncers. They make sure no one plays hanky panky with the visitor. If they see anyone disturbing someone else, they are fast to respond with the flash light and comes and asks if we are disturbed or ok. If so, they will remove the nuisances. We did not face any issues, but when my friend took some pictures of us, the bouncer came and asked if we are ok with it.

So all in all it was one crazy setup. It was not boring for us because everything we saw was new to us and amusing. Thanks to the crazy guys spending money they earned from their businesss for the week on the garlands. And the three trio scratching each others heads.

No regrets on spending five green notes to see this setup. You have to go there to experience it.

We want to try R&B next. We are told only couples are allowed there.
