Challenges of being a indie

I have always wondered being a indie it's easy to operate, unfortunately I came across ruthless characters in the guise of long term prospects, I'm just addressing it in the best interest of many hapless friends of mine who's chosen to serve in the hope of exploring possibility, never plunge prior to the due diligence irrespective of how promising the prospects project themselves. Secondly I have also come across many holier than thou characters who condemn paid fun, they shouldn't be deviating from there comfort zone if they're so virtuous. Let's get our distinction right before declaring a morale high ground.
