Because what I see is beyond and beneath all your physical beauty. I see you as someone who's not above nor below me, but someone I can be beside.
For now, I'm an enigma. And maybe you won't ever figure me out, nor are you supposed to.
Maybe I'll bore you with my incessant babbling about random stuff. Or maybe you'll spend the rest of your life groaning at the memory of a corny joke I cracked and a particularly dorky pun I gleefully delivered.
Know that I will never need you. I've relied on myself for far too long to recognize what it's like to crave another human being again. But if I choose you, consider yourself lucky. It'll be messy and absofuckinglutely crazy and all kinds of funny. I will never try to limit or change you. I will encourage you to thrive and embrace all the best parts of you. And the rest? The ones you loathe? Those will be the ones that I'll celebrate. I know what it's like to be in the dark. And you'll never need to go without my light because I got you. And that's what I'll say instead of I love you. Love is overrated anyway.
