Swinging Lifestyle and the Island Mentality

2:39 pm Monday, 20th November, 2017

While this may be of interest to some of our islanders 😉 it could be academic to some.....being an islander (and Sri Lanka is a small island comparatively) means being open about your life choices isn't going to go down well with a lot of people. I'm not saying the 'island mentality' is Prudish or Victorian but boundaries are well defined, unwritten rules are followed (some times blindly) and faith plays a major role in most of our life choices....breaking free of these inhibitions is not that easy and easier than said....but also some common courtesies have to be enforced as rules when you want to move into the lifestyle... for example Evaluating the other partners the per-requisites for islanders would be not in any particular order but what comes to mind would be:
- a safe and controlled environment for activities
- vetting of identities and background research on the partners/couples
- use of alcohol (hard or soft)
- food
- allowing the use of Cams or Cameras
- what activities are allowed or is it a free for all kind of party where anything goes
- security (physical)
- who's footing the bill etc;

While the above would be or could be some areas needed to be covered how ever do we achieve this blissful state.

Personally I've been to a few parties out side my home country where the vetting process is done and by one of the members of the regular group but back home people post notices and then go very quiet 😢 and hence the reason 'Island Mentality' or is it just that they've hit the max numbers.....

anyway would love to hear from anyone who's had similar thoughts or has experienced a whole different something I'm talking about or are we islanders still in the foursome or threesome game.....

Cheers.
