Understanding the term, “swinging”

I've come across some members using the term, “swinging” loosely in their profiles or when chatting ,as if everybody is practicing the lifestyle already. But as you peruse further down their page, you'd find out that they are only interested in either, SRS(same room sex with respective partners) (2 couples or more), watching another couple making out/doing the deed or a little petting here and there with another couple, but no actual sexual penetration with the swapped partner. Others would write down strictly, “No hardcore swingers”??? in their profile introductions to ward off the alleged, “hardcores”.

First, let us find out how wikipedia defines SWINGING: sometimes called wife swapping or partner swapping, is a non-monogamous behavior in which both singles and partners in a committed relationship engage in sexual activities with others as a recreational or social activity.

There you go people, as you can see SRS, voyeurism or petting can't be classified as swinging but simply an ordinary fetish or act of foreplay since it lacks the main ingredient of a sexual activity, which is, actual penetration. In my opinion, it is also a misnomer to call active swingers as hardcore swingers.
Not only does the term sounds disgusting and demeaning, some make it appear that the people indulging in the lifestyle are unmindful of safe sex practices or too promiscuous for their comfort. On the contrary, most swingers are married couples with children or in committed relationships, meaning to say, they choose carefully whom they play with and don't just pick up random strangers for sex to avoid contracting any diseases that may harm their families. It is therefore safe to assume that you'd have a more enjoyable and worry free sexual environment with swingers than the ordinary Tom, Dick and Harry out there. Of course, this is my opinion and subject to debate depending on the perspective of the beholder.
