A big first for me today; Michelle actually left the house during the daytime and drove to a pub about 10 miles away to meet up with the delicious saraangel.
I had been very nervous about taking this huge step (well, huge for me), but with sara's support and understanding I thought - what the heck, go for it.
First challenge, walking out the front door, locking up and walking to the car in full view of the neighbours. Took a deep breath, held my head high, and went for it - there was no bugger to see me.
Got to the pub a bit early, wasn't sure if Sara was there yet, sat in the car for 10 minutes. At the designated hour I decided to bite the bullet and go in the pub to see if Sara was already there - she wasn't. A really nice girl behind the bar asked if she could help so I ordered a coffee (by this stage I was not caring a fig about what other might think - another first for me).
Took my coffee outside and had just sat down when the phone rang - it was Sara and she was around the corner in the car park. Took a little stroll and there was my guiding angel, looking absolutely edible in her new summer dress.
Well, after several coffees and a portion of cheesy chips we realised that we had been nattering on and laughing for 4 hours solid. During that time we got a few appreciative waves and glances from passing motorists and, thanks to Sara, I felt so relaxed with the whole experience.
Anyway, it was high time to go on our merry way so, with a new found confidence I drove home knowing that I will be doing this again sometime soon.
