I've done a lot since I last posted to this blog. I took an online test to determine if I am a transsexual or not because I had been wrestling with that question for more than a year now. Mind you the test is not definitive and the author is not a professional in the mental health community but a transsexual herself, MTF, who saw a need and attempted to fill it. The test is not long and I was done in a matter of minutes, but it did ask some good probing, no pun intended, questions. I was not surprised at the result, which said that there is a high probably that I am a transsexual. I had considered that to be a likely possibility considering my inclinations and interests. It also said that I should take this seriously and should probably get professional help. I have definitely taken it seriously, but at this point in my life I don't think I need professional help, but if things change I will seek it out.
Another thing that has moved my life forward is that I moved yesterday into a small room in downtown Chicago and now while it is very humble it is a place of my own. The move is not complete, as my sister's SUV would not hold all of the things I wanted to bring with, but I am going to get another ride next week to finish. I have a plan to make money to pay the rent and other expenses it's just a little iffy. But I am looking forward to the challenge and find it all very exciting. It has been two years since I have been on my own and I thank God for the opportunity.
Today I went out in almost complete "Girl mode" to gauge the reactions of my new neighbors. I saw a lot of heads turning my way and some concentrated gazes fixed on me, but no hostility or ugliness that I could detect, so I would say the results are positive but mixed. I will keep working on my look to perfect it. Wish me luck!
