I think version 1 involved blowing, but never caught on due to health issues (over inflated ball sacks chiefly). version 2 (sucking) was much safer and really caught on. However the name had to stay due to the patent being refused on the "suckjob" as the lawyers (who had never recieved a blowjobsuckjob) thought it too similar to the already patented blowjob.
