Is everyone a mind fuck?

So for the last few years I've been massaging the ego of what can only be described as a mind fucker.
I turned 38 last week, my birthday was supposed to be a good day, instead it was ruined by lies and head games.
Are there actually genuine people out there or is the world just full of people who like to play games with others feelings and head?
