Why do peole arrange to meet then stand up?

A question im sure we all ask every day, mine is this, and its a simple one, and sadly this site is not immune from protaganists doing this. Why do people chat, arrange to meet, then either not turn up, or not put the last arrangement in place, surely it would be more manners when chatting to say, im happy to chat but dont want to meet up, or meet up yet!, its so annoying to get your hopes built up and then have them dashed, and off here its happend on 3 occasions, so come on guys, if you want a meet, stick to it, dont string any one along, imsure if the boot was on the other foot you wouldnt like it.
