SiteAdminClaire

Hi all,

We would love to hear from you again, this time around we are looking at blogs and articles.

For all our regular bloggers out there, what could we improve on to make posting or reading blogs easier? For those who never use our blog section, is there anything that puts you off using this feature?

Do you find it easy to find an article of your subject choice? What kind of articles do you like to read about?

Please let us know how you would improve both our blog and article section and help contribute towards site changes!

Thanks :)

Very quiet on the blog front...Site Advisors? We need your help to make site improvements! :)

Hi @Sallycurious, could you give me a little more detail on the content that is being posted as a blog and is needing redirected? Yes the order of comments was brought up before so a lot of members must agree with you on this! :)

PLEASE can you start deleting "blogs" that are advertisements for services or "I am looking for an X to fuck tonight" ??? And anything else that is NOT blog material?

OOOPs, sorry, Sally, I was in so much haste to get that up there that I didn't notice you'd already said the same thing.

I like thoughtfully written blogs that address an issue, concern, or thought the writer has on hisher mind. Sexual or not. While I don't read the stories of fantasies or real life events that are often posted, I know others do, and they certainly have their place here.

What I do NOT like:

copy and paste articles
one line comments (how is that a blog???)
advertisements for services
complaints about the site andor the people on it with no comments on how such issues could be resolved

Things I'd like to see happen in the blog area:

the ability to remove our own comments (yes, I tend to hit the comment button far too soon sometimes, I do admit) See my previous posts here.
Admin removing posts that are not blogs (quite a while ago, admin wrote a blog defining what a blog should be.....would be nice if that was kept to)
Ease of posting could be improved.....I've had to submit some of mine several times before they came up (over a period of a week or so---I understand they may not be immediately viewable), and occasionally one of mine appears on my profile but not publicly.

The blogs are where EroticGoddess began. After hearing good feedback on a few of my first posts, I gathered the courage to say hello to a few people in the chatrooms, and am so glad I did. These blogs were an amazing part of this site for a long time. Hopefully they will be again.

Maybe the forums need stricter moderation to prevent all topics being about a meet somewhere. Just an idea x

Frankly I am tired of Admin paying continuous lip service to how they can "improve" the blogs when clearly they never listen to what people say. Every so often an Admin person pops up, perhaps to reassure us that they have their finger on the site pulse, but to me it seems nothing more than a sort of meaningless PR ritual. The blogs used to be a rich and absorbing part of the site with active and frank exchanges of opinion, but then a change of site policy that involved heavy-handed editing, censorship and impromptu deletions ruined everything. I used to contribute regularly but under the present regime it's a waste of time and effort, so I intend to lie low until I'm convinced that sincere efforts are being made to put things right again.

@eroticgoddess nice to hear this section of this site is where it all began for you, thanks for your detailed feedback! @Angelici @Chrissy nice to hear from you both again, obviously both very passionate and keen to see changes asap. @Skebbie I think we chatted over Skype, hope you've been well. Unfortunately we can't always make individual changes one step at a time but I understand everyone is keen to see improvements sooner than later. We are currently preparing a beta version of the site for advisors to test out before officially releasing. This will be rolled out next week. Everyone's feedback is being carefully considered, please bear with us and continue to get involved with the blogs and surveys. Thanks, Claire :)

Ah the wonderful world of the blogs. Yet another part of the site that has been carefully destroyed so as it put people off posting because I can't believe that was once probably the best area of the hub has been dismantled so completely by mistake.
Where ever day you could find an interesting blog which the author had obviously taken a great deal of time and effort over. This in turn lead to funny, sad & thoughtful comments which kept the blogs continually fresh and original...... Now we just get crap which has taken 10 seconds to write or 5 seconds to copy and paste.
You want to get the blogs back to what they were? Then start with some consistency regarding the policing of your own guidelines. You've previously told us what is acceptable and what qualifies as a blog but these are ignored on a daily basis. Which wouldn't be so bad if real blogs weren't being removed without any reason.
Start sorting them and give the bloggers who invest their efforts into making your site appealing to others the confidence that their work won't be discarded without reason.
If you do think a blog does infringe rules go back to the author quoting the passages which you consider inappropriate and give them the chance to change it before consigning to the dustbin.
And for god sake put the first comment on page 1.... Reading books backwards has never appealed to me and neither does reading blogs!!!
The majority of the bloggers are still here lurking in the shadows just give us some confidence that if we return it will be worth it.

Please don't let this be another "admin questionnaire " asking our opinions which are then ignored because for a lot of us in think it might be the straw that breaks the last camels back. Please prove that you are listening.....

At the risk of being
labelled lazy, I have to echo many if not all of the comments below,
but without actually repeating them.
I started to blog this year,
but gave up almost immediately, as my blogs crossed over the elusive
site rules, by voicing some criticism and dissatisfaction about the
site.
My blogs and forum posts are in my opinion fairly well
written, on point, and not rude, crude, or abusive. I put time and
effort into what I write, only to see it removed without any
reasonable explanation.

I have cut & pasted the following from Skebbie's post (see, now you know I'm lazy).

"heavy-handed editing, censorship and impromptu deletions"

Take note Site Admin; this seems to be the common theme running through much of this blog, I fully support it, and you seem to be ignoring it, because this is not the first time this has been brought up.

I have been a VIP member of this site on and off for about seven years, but I'm thinking of leaving.

RiskyRicky: Thanks for echoing my concerns. Recently, although I'm unsure whether my imagination is playing tricks, there doesn't seem to have been as much of those annoying asterisks in newly uploaded blog posts. I'm keeping my fingers crossed :-))

9:51 am Monday, 30th January, 2017 SiteAdminClaire

Hi all, @ricky @domaxpash please allow me to look into why your blogs were not postedblocked as you mentioned. @Skebbie, you are correct about the asterisks. We introduced the 'top poster' feature months ago which allows members to post with very little moderation as they have a track record of good content.
