Hi @Sallycurious, thanks for commenting. Are you referring to introduction messages? Member introductions are promotional messages and are sent on behalf of the user to others with matching profiles depending on their promotional settings. Check out your promotion settings to help control these messages. These types of messages are marked with a different icon as displayed in the mailbox legend. Hope this helps!

i think there should be some free massage everyday so we can know img src="imagesadultemoticons028.gif"

Hello Claire, I do believe the site has lost so much kudos since the major changes happened to the chat rooms and the ability to send private messages if you're not a full member. I have noticed a massive drop in numbers using the chat rooms at any one time.

Whatever feedback I give, the website and most importantly you guys and developers will not care. Reason being, you feel it makes money. In essence, it has made me not want to use the website anymore. I do not need intro emails being sent to me, to make me want to buy a membership, and nor do I need fake profile view alerts. Most of all not being able to message friends anymore in IM? Keep doing your thing adulthub. It is only a matter of time before someone creates a similar website and listens to its users feedbacks and makes it better. Theadulthub will be MySpace and the new site whoever creates it may just end up being Facebook. This site has potential but the ownerdeveloper does not see beyond the line.

Site generated messages are to say the least annoying and a waste of time.
To say that the site is doing something on my behalf presupposes that I would give my permission for that action which in this case I wouldn't.

9:51 am Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

Hi all, thanks for your input. @openislandcpl good point on making it clearer on how to control the introduction messages. @roamer256 check out your mail and promotion settings. Introduction messages are good for starting conversations and encouraging interaction. It lets people with busy lifestyles promote themselves without having to write lots of messages. Is there anything else within the mail messaging feature that bothers you? Like scammer messages? These are messages from people who seem non genuine and are trying to promote other services. How do you find the layout of the mailbox? We will look at features such as chatroom and blogs in the next few weeks, but please let me know about any other mail messaging problems :)

9:55 am Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 roamer256

Hi Claire I am happy with my mail settings but it is frustrating to receive messages from other members who are unaware that they have sent messages and as others have already said I am close by messages from people who are the other end of the country.

12:18 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 Mistryman

I would love to have free messaging between all types of members, since they have a profile and pics published here, or at least an history record. The volume would increase and also the chances to know new friends. This would also be very god when you go on a trip and want to meet new friends

12:25 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 medievalbiker

being a long time member a lot of the settings have been changed but not explained to those of us who have been here a while. It would be a good idea to explain these setting when they are changed to existing members and to new members once they have joined.

12:27 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 medievalbiker

Oh and I too dislike this new method of displaying the blogs it makes it difficult to follow a conversation and see hat has already been said.

12:46 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

Thanks all, i'm gathering a summary of your feedback on mail messaging. @storky1966 thanks for the info on deleted and fake profiles. Does anyone else experience messages from deleted or fake profiles? How are you identifying the message as a fake?

1:58 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 pusskins1

Everyone is rather fed up with site generated messages from people who may have just viewed your profile but have no real intention of getting in touch. Far better to have 1 genuine message than 50 generated by the site automatically.img src="imagesadultemoticons001.gif"

2:16 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 pusskins1

It seems that most of the gripes are about the same things. Site generated messages and members who dont pay unable to send PMs. I have to admit I dont often use the chat rooms any more and sometimes think twice about membership as there doesnt seem to be many new and interesting members on line. Chat used to be fun and filled with lost of banter. In the Spanish room we see a message now about every 15 minutes (If we are lucky). something needs to be done to encourage more people to use the site and to stop posting doomsday messages that we might be banned if we break the rules!

2:46 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 kevin162

I would love to use more of the site free, But would like more matches to my likes rather than so many random ones

4:10 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 almeriafun

Maybe the site should look at clasicnon VIP members being given 3 to 5 emails per day free to openreadreply, thus allowing VIP members to get replies also a mimial charge of €5 per month for non VIP for private chat may help people and not break the bank.....just a thought.

6:27 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 rigger101uk

After years I have only just let my VIP membership lapse because the site is not as much fun as it used to be. I have learned all sorts of things since then, as my inbox is chock full of introductory messages that I cannot switch off and I cannot read (being a classis member). Whoever decided that must have thought hat the reaction would be for my wallet and upgrade, but the effect is that I feel pressured and where's the fun in that?

I have also discovered that if I like someone or something a pre-formed introductory message was sent out. Honestly - there really is no need as it just rubs folks up the wrong way.

I am sticking around in the hope and expectation that things will improve (or maybe go back to how they were!) but a very good start would be to have a proper re-vamp of the automated messaging protocol.

And when I say revamp I mean stick it in file 13 and then let some real and interesting grown-up communication see the light of day!

6:28 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 rigger101uk

Oh and please please please stop it with the asterisk thing!!!!!!

7:47 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 pawnheartattack

What I find really frustrating is how the current chat has decimated a thriving chat community - and this is despite the fact that you received vast amounts of feedback saying that the new chat room was difficult to use, and generally disliked. The fact that you ignored this feedback doesn't bode well for this new initiative.

The biggest failing in the new chat is the cam feature, which is of unbelievably poor quality and much too small. In the vintage rooms we would often have 4 or 5 people on cam at the same time, all interacting, with many others off cam enjoying the fun and chatting in the room. This is now impossible, and so the cam feature has largely fallen out of use.

The low numbers in chat reflect directly the change in the interface and the dislike that most people have for it.

7:52 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 pawnheartattack

I do have an idea that might be useful. Why not allow users to have favourite blogs that can be accessed directly from our profile page, like the favourite profiles or friends list. For example if I hadn't bookmarked this page I would have no idea how to get back here.

7:57 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 pawnheartattack

Mail messaging: I guess I should have gone to Specsavers and read the blog title lol.

Anyway I believe that if a VIP member initiates a message conversation with a classic member, that member should be able to reply without getting the 'no more messages from classic members' message. Otherwise it's rather pointless being able to write the message in the first place, and devalues the VIP subscription.

8:28 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 Harry538

Claire, change promotional email settings off by default! Those 'Busy' people can turn it on! Sending messages out is annoying. I am not upgrading to mark 48 messages as read. And if there are any legit messages in between then tough cookies I will delete it. I do not respond and instantly delete automated emails.

10:04 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 Harry538

@Gillibean one thing I have noticed it, my inbox gets spammed when I become a classic. This promotional email they speak of, I sorry to say but I call it bollocks! The true meaning of promotional email is to make classic members think they have a lot of lovely people interested in them just so they can pay to become a VIP member. Claire, if this gets me blocked, then I suppose I will know adulthubs true intentions. Acting like caring for its members but in reality, restricting users to all be paying members. Until such changes are made, I refuse to pay for any fee, and then when you end up with everyone not wanting to pay. Cost of running the server will be unaffordable. My advice Turn off the "Promotional Emails" as you say even though in reality that is not what it is used for. As I can prove it when I was VIP I never got those emails, only sent to me when I am a classic member. Also allow VIP to message classic, and classic members can respond back! It is not rocket science.

11:06 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 Liquors4u

Introductory messages should be got rid of and perhaps you should have a better way of weeding out false accounts if I get one more just buy this date pass or sign up here as I can't message you I'm going to scream. Also having recently attempted to be scanned I placed a review in for others to see they where scammers trying to fleece money. Your reply it breaks the house rules....,,, what by trying to help other members sigh

11:07 pm Tuesday, 2nd August, 2016 Liquors4u

One other thing if I don't reply to someone why does it still show I have a message pending....

11:32 am Wednesday, 3rd August, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

Hi everyone, some really good views being put across here. Thanks for taking the time to comment! Issues with communication between VIP and classic members has been noted along with the promotional messaging. What's your thoughts on the tools provided within the messaging feature? Do you find it easy to filterreply to threads etc?

4:25 pm Wednesday, 3rd August, 2016 naturbeachcpl

The chat rooms are not generating much "chat" .......the format is too restrictive for Classic members and perhaps people are not joining i.e. becoming VIP members as they dont really know what they are getting for their money and think its a bit of a punt ?

4:54 am Thursday, 4th August, 2016 Harry538

Hey Claire, thanks. I'll be looking forward to changed bring made. Also can you allow those who had a chat whilst they were VIP to continue. Give them restrictions such as 1 message per day, but allow those VIPs to send a message to someone they began a conversation with. You'll find have people paying the fee, I mean no one would like to be restricted to 1 emails.

With memberships allow users to cancel themselves. Having to email the support team, keeps them busy and makes it a hassle for the member to wait to have their membership cancelled.

That is all. Looking forward to the suggestions made that were noted to take effect on the site. Do we have an ETA as to when such changes will be made. I understand the site wants to make money, but if the site wants to be anything on the same level as other well known sites I won't mention the ones competing with the site... Make changes and you'll see a growth on the site. Have a sml advert box somewhere nothing annoying just playing in the background, even that will generate revenue!

@Sallycurious, yes there has been good response to the first blog and a lot covered - so thanks everyone for your input! Ideas and suggestions from both blog and survey are being collated, we will keep you updated with the next stages. Have a great weekend and enjoy the site :)

8:51 am Saturday, 6th August, 2016 Harry538

Claire, can we not have private chats removed? I am searching for someone I connected with, we had arranged to meet in August as she visit London. It is inconvenient for chats to be removed. perhaps we can click 'Favourite' to avoid it being removed.

3:35 pm Friday, 12th August, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

@Chrissy @Angelici, BlogsArticles should be the next area we are looking at so thanks for these suggestions, good to hear the blog feature is enjoyed! @Harry538, thanks for the posts - with regards to when changes will take place you can expect to see changes and updates being gradually tested and actioned over the next few weeks. Please look out for new blog post from me, I think we have everything we need from this one :) thanks all

12:22 pm Wednesday, 21st September, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

Hi all, site advisor members should now have access to our beta site which was sent today by email. Please test out the improvements made on mail messagingsettings and tell us what you think via the feedback link on the beta login page. Thanks :)

6:39 pm Sunday, 6th November, 2016 simonmottola67

Do you have to pay to read mail ??

5:40 pm Tuesday, 8th November, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

@Angelici thanks for letting us know 😊 the idea of following is so you can follow the author and be notified of new posts, I am following you for example so I can see you have a new post today. You can track individual blogs in 'discussion' if you have commented on it, or 'read again' if you have read before. When writing your newest post did you notice your blog text stores if you navigate away from it? This is a good feature for keen bloggers like yourself! We are continuing to iron out any faults and tweaks which come with a new site launch so please keep me updated on any issues you experience 👍

10:32 am Wednesday, 9th November, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

Hi Chrissy, I'm going to return your question with a question lol, how are you finding the new blog layout? The new layout should provide you with content which is matched to you with more of a focus on blog quality as well as recent blog posts. With regards to archiving older blogs with a poor response, please leave this with me and we can look at how to make it more efficient. Thanks, Claire 😀

12:33 pm Thursday, 17th November, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

@spymi @PeteJDT there is a solution in your advanced settings, please check it out. Turn off sending and receiving these messages is now available if you're not interested in them. Also as a VIP these messages will be filtered into a separate folder for you. We are currently working through some bugs and fixes so please bear with us as we continue to make updates, and thank you for the huge response on the feedback survey. 😀

2:27 pm Thursday, 17th November, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

Thats lovely to hear Pete 😊 we are 100% listening and continuing to improve the introduction message function as we speak. Our aim is to make it useful to those who wish to use it without irritating the users who don't require it. Thanks

5:28 pm Friday, 18th November, 2016 SiteAdminClaire

Hi Chrissy, the issue with messaging should now be fixed - apologies for this! We are still ironing out glitches so thanks for getting in touch via blog comment 😊. I have checked and yes your blog post is showing at the back end of the system but at the moment there seems to be an issue with posting it. This fault has been highlighted to the team and will be dealt with asap, thanks for bringing this to our attention. It may be Monday before this is sorted due to the time difference here in the UK. Thanks for your patience. Claire
