Welcumdstraction

Picture the scene...
You are at a great party, the best in ages;
Great company, brilliant dj, free flowing drink...everybody is having a great time...then it happens....Agadoo starts playing and everybody vacates the dance floor, a couple start to have a very loud row in a corner and a drunk guy staggers across the room, projectile vomits over your feet and proceeds to knock all the drink over...all your friends are leaving, "crap party" is their parting words and finally your dad turns up, turns all the lights on and starts to tidy up and the dj pisses off with your entire record collection....
Sounds like hell and i am sure there are a number of you that feel like that has happened recently.....
Not me, the eternal party animal.... I am just gonna move on and start my own party, the night is still young and of course, you don't have to take your clothes off to have a good time.
So if you want to fight for your right to party then people hold on..
Always seemed a music blog was good to get people together and you cannot have a party without music..
And for me, music has the uncanny habit of bringing back memories of places and people,
The michal Jackson off the wall album always reminds me of living in the South of France as a kid...seemed it was the only album that French radio was allowed to play.
More recently, The Cures Friday i am in love reminds me of somebody that i do like to think about often....
Anyway, two directions for this blog,
As i have no records left cos that bloody dj nicked them, what music would you bring with you?
Or...
What song is there that holds a strong memory for you that when you hear it you are instantly transported to that place????

So play that funky music white boy..
And lets see if we can get the party started.

If I am going to host a party I know my friends will be looking for something new, fresh and original. They're not interested in trying to recreate last year's 'best party ever' as they know the magic of the moment has been and gone and it will just be a party to the monotone beat of one hand clapping.

I was Jr Yr Abroad sounds bout the same time and I know exactly what you mean about Michael Jackson being the only thing on the radio. My friend was in Germany at the time and we used to open our telephone conversations with. "so is Michael still beating it?" and apparently he was beatin' it there 247 too :0 Party on Wayne

I should think a good, full-volume, blast of Johnny Rotten, 'Friggin' in the the Riggin'' might be a good opener

... as 'there's f^ck-all else to do!'

7:03 pm Thursday, 15th October, 2015 Welcumdstraction

Mr chickpea,
Its only any good when theres fuck all else to do.

Lillith, three attempts it took to read your post before i realised it said parties and not panties......
Not sure where my mind was going!!

Welcum: Your party hell sketch was truly inspired and very familiar :-) However, I think at that point I'd probably move off home, have a long hot bath, and listen to Mahler's 5th symphony :-)

7:05 am Friday, 16th October, 2015 Welcumdstraction

Skebbie,
Glad somebody saw the irony in the "crap party",
Would that be a glass of red or a cup of horlicks with your classical interlude?

Miss V,
I am picturing the sorry scene now.....but there is still hope!
I am sure Baz Luhrman has something planning...
And it cant be that bad, at least you can afford the price of a tub of ben and Jerry's.
Not saying i am tight but my first car cost less than a tub of that stuff...
Admittedly, it died two days later and it cost me more to get it scrapped, but it did have a decent radio, every cloud!!!

7:27 am Friday, 16th October, 2015 Skebbie

Hmmmm....."whore-licks" in the bath while listening to Mahler's 5th might be a nuance worth investigating.

7:54 am Friday, 16th October, 2015 MrChickpea

Maybe Wagner's, 'Ring Cycle', instead?

Gee, I am completely and utterly lost on this blog....But I am trying...sorry but when I was at school, I would probably be the girl in the dark corner and shy....:P

Crappy party music: They would play Macarena and Asereje...google! img src="imagesadultemoticons026.gif"

5:25 pm Friday, 16th October, 2015 Welcumdstraction

Free,
No crappy music please, at the moment it feels like Michael Jacksons "She's out of my life" is playing and everybody is crying in there lambrini and stella's....or Ben and Jerry's...
No more,
Lilli, get outta that drab outfit and get yer glad rags on,
Skebbie, drop you ovaltine and put down that Radiohead album before we are forced to remove all the sharp objects.
The only B&j's that are to be mentioned from now on wont have an ampersand in the middle!!!!
Let the good times roll again, there is a bucket full of happy pills on the bar and all the waiters and waitresses are topless.
So all we need is some decent music to get the dance floor filled,
All requests to the DJ now, lets party on!

11:26 pm Friday, 16th October, 2015 Welcumdstraction

If something don't happen soon, i am gonna go into full Delia rant mode!!!

The oinky one? Is that something by them irritating little cartoon pigs?

1:51 pm Saturday, 17th October, 2015 MrChickpea

I'm thinking more along allegorical lines with 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols (just keeping the band en-vogue for the site)

7:05 pm Sunday, 18th October, 2015 MrChickpea

Shhh!.... was that the 'Blog Mouse' I just heard fart?

7:02 pm Monday, 19th October, 2015 Welcumdstraction

Somegody give me a b flat, its time to lower the flag and for the bugler to play the last post...

Mr Chickpea,
That wasn't a mouse fart but the final death ripper of the lesser spotted poster just as the last nail went in his coffin...

Arrrrgh ! Not Wagner, please ! Our regimental march was " The Ride of the Valkyries "...you try marching to that bloody tune let alone dance to it ! If I were at a party with Miss Valiant,I would like to slow dance with her to " Cwm Rhondda ", " Sospan Fach" or " Tom and Mary ,in the Dairy " If I were with Free for Pleasure it would have to be either " I want to get you on a slow boat to China " or " The Ying Tong Song "

6:58 am Tuesday, 20th October, 2015 Welcumdstraction

Fetch,
Ride of the Valkyries, great classic but for some reason i cant get the image of Bugs Bunny and Elmer Thud out of my head when i hear it...some of Mel Blancs finest work.

Still desperate to get the party started,
Never gonna give you up cos i want good times...
But at this rate i am gonn fall asleep so you may need to wake me up before you go go...

And while you're in a classical frame of mind, here are two pieces certain to please when you're engaging with a lady. " Speed Your Journey " from Nabucco by Verdi ( even rhythmical tempo and the title is apt too ) Swiftly followed by the Vivaldi " Gloria " which perfectly encapsulates, heightening pleasure, culminating in blind-blowing orgasm.

8:29 am Tuesday, 20th October, 2015 Skebbie

Our regimental march was " The Ride of the Valkyries ".

I love the smell of blanco and bootblack in the morning...... :-)

I have it on good authority that Ravel's Bolero and the waltz from Der Rosenkavalier by R. Strauss are both allegorical odes to a good fuck :-) The former is a bit overplayed, but the latter is simply sublime.

11:46 am Tuesday, 20th October, 2015 freeforpleasure

Skibbie: Now I am wondering if you were a composer how your allegorical ode would sound like...img src="imagesadultemoticons021.gif"

12:15 pm Tuesday, 20th October, 2015 Skebbie

Probably something along the lines of "The wheels on the bus" :-)

Round and round, round and round......all day long....yep, it sounds like u!! img src="imagesadultemoticons024.gif"
