The best gift i ever received was from a scuba dive buddy, a german girl name Karin.

I'm far too practical. I also think doing something is more romantic than giving items.

Pack a picnic, if there's somewhere you know of to enjoy it. Stuff if full of things you can feed each other. Keep only the memories.

On the gift giving side (not romantic but hey) give him something he'll use everyday and think of you every time he takes it out or uses it. A wallet would be my choice. And dont forget to put a picture of you in it, too.

I am adding some ideas that I thought were brilliant from people in the chat:
