Do you remember your first....?

Turquiose

First time first love oh what feeling is this
Electricity flows
Like a break in the clouds and the first ray of sun
I can feel it inside something new has begun

Ok, yes, this is my first blog; yes, it's totally non-serious; and no, it has nothing to do with either Robin Beck nor coca cola. Um, if that last bit meant nothing to you - bless you child, enjoy your youth....but the best is still to come. ;)

Right back to topic. This blog is about a first for you. Do you remember your first.....toy? What was it? What prompted you to get it? In fact, did you get it or did someone else? Details please - and don't forget the more juicier the better, just don't get your keyboard all wet. I hate it when the keys start sticking.

Sitting comfortably over there? Then I'll start off. My first toy was a remote controlled dildo. I believe from a shop in Soho. My friend and her husband bought it for me sometime in 2002. I had just come out of a relationship and as my friend's hubby put it, it was best if I have a toy otherwise I might be tempted to have sex with just anyone! Obviously back then I had very different wants to today otherwise I wouldn't be hanging around here with you lovely people.

I admit, I didn't use the dildo much for quite a few months. But a wise young man told me that I needed to use it more regularly and not just leave it in a cupboard. Apparently, practice helps. You know what? Dude was so right!

Thus started my learning experience of staying home, entertaining myself with my first toy. But I still prefer it when I have a guest come and we mutually entertain each other.

Now, over to you... x

My first toy? Now there's a question!!
There have been so many, but I'm sure my first was a little pink teddy bear with a pink ribbon on its ear.
I later moved on to Lego ...

'I have a wand and he goes everywhere with me'
One only hopes that your pet name for your appendage is 'wand'? I for one would never permit the use of any toy that had been used on or by other people for their pleasure, for me that thought is just Eeeewww.

Will admit i own a shall we say...'small' collection of pleasure aids but never have i thought of them as a replacement for the 'real deal'!! Way back years ago i remember my ex husband took great offence to me buying a toy so tossed it straight into the bin before i even had a chance to take it out the packaging never mind take it for dare i say a 'test drive'. I can only surmise that he felt that his manhood was being somewhat threatened or his sexual prowess brought into question.
Glad to say that some men feel at ease and have enough confidence in themselves amd more so their abilities to please (rightly so may i add!!). So they know 'toys' are only side dish and never the main course, well for me anyway. :-) x

I've got more toys than Toys R Us, Woolworths and probably a few more stores all put together. Have to agree with SS could never be a 'replacement for the real deal'. Though they do the job in the absence of a partner, sadly they still leave me wanting to a certain degree

8:58 pm Tuesday, 12th May, 2015 Turquiose

Ok, second time writing this reply.....

After getting home after a long meeting, I was delightfully suprised as well as extremely amused by all the comments and the warm welcome from everyone - thank you!

I should add that I'm very glad I didn't think to look at the site on the tube on the way home. People often look at me strangely when I giggle manically at my phone.

withlove1950 - I can only say that I hope no one ever says "Expelliarmus" when you are using your wand... ;)

Luv2sucU - there are so many things I want to say and ask so please do bare, I mean, bear with me.

Firstly, the fluffy teddy bear. I'm going to apologise in advance for all my questions but you've really got me thinking as this isn't a toy I've ever had. I now feel very deprived but I will try to get over it. Anyway, did you get a new MrMs Teddy after each play time? Or did you launder it on a regular basis? In which case, should one use the lingerie cycle or the duvet cycle?

As your toy had pink ribbon in one ear, did you leave this on when playing? If not, did the ribbon ever get lost necessitating a rescue mission? If any of us ever have to mount a rescue mission, how many people do you recommend and should any or all participants be commando?

After you moved on from MrMs Teddy to lego (I'm assuming you didn't play with them at the same time?), given lego has big knobbly bits, how did you - actually, you know what, I don't want to know.

psavour, I think you should not be worried about coming third place instead of second. For me, it's more important that you join in rather than make a speedy contribution. Also, now that you've pointed it out, I quite enjoyed you being pipped by Luv2sucU. If it's not too personal a question, how was it for you?

Yes, you are right that women have more to play with than men. But isn't that just normal market forces at work? Women have demanded satisfaction and therefore they have more toys. Perhaps it is analogous to this - women will buy more than one pair of shoes and sometimes also buy a matching handbag. We don't just want the one and why should we? I'm more than aware that this doesn't apply to each and every woman, I'm generalising a lot here. But the important point here is that society accepts this. Whereas men have been brought up to believe they just need one pair and shouldn't even think about getting a bag too. Luckily, this attitude has changed. No longer are men subjected to ridicule or harassment if they say "I need three pairs of new shoes and - OMG, that bag too, it's just so practical with all those pockets and roomy enough for my torque wrench set". It is a slow change, but psavour don't despair. I'm sure that one day, eventually, you will have as much choice as I do when shopping for things that meet my needs and wants.

Thanks very much for sharing the information about the cock ring and egg. I will do my best to share this nugget with all future male companions.

Going off on a slight tangent to my original question now but related to the difference in availability of choice for men as opposed to women, I wonder if there are other differences that may be gender related? My thought is prompted by recently discovering that Tesco Superstore sells cock rings. But I didn't see anything for a woman. Or perhaps that was my ignorance in identifying such things by sight? I don't know but I'd be interested in reading any thoughts anyone else has on this.

SunShineGirlUK, you make a valid point about pleasure aids being an accompaniment and not a substitute. I echo BigBurdUK and totally agree with you there. My friend and her husband would also agree with you. But way back then, I had just come out of a very unpleasant relationship. They knew the details and they knew me well enough to know that the last thing I needed was to get involved with any man at that point. But they also knew a thing about a body's needs, thank heavens!

BigBurdUK - I wish I had known that Woolworths used to stock pleasure aids!

Finally, again thanks to all comments. Everything you have all said has been as useful and educational as my first Erotica exhibition.

Thanks MrHappyScotland. Just one minor point - I don't believe, I know! At least now I know it's not just me. I wonder where all the disappearing comments go to? Is there an Adult Bermuda Triangle?

Well looks like round 2 made it on here...

5:40 am Wednesday, 13th May, 2015 Skebbie

I've found that it's not just censorship that accounts for missing posts on here: there also seems to be a time-out that ensures one's posts disappear into thin air unless one clicks the "+ comment" button fairly sharpish after typing. In other words, you can't start writing, go off and have a cup of tea, and then return to carry on writing. To be safe, these days I always "select all" and "copy" each post before pressing the button.

At the risk of being a bit of a bore, I have to confess I've never used toys with a partner. Being "old skool" I always considered that any man worth his salt would have no need for them. I once caved in to a GF who insisted on rogering me with a dildo, but it felt like a spear of fire and I thought I was being disembowelled :-) Have not been back there since :-)

Psavour makes a good point about the dearth of suitable implements for males, but I've always found that Mrs Palm and her five daughters do a pretty good job most of the time, and after a lifetime of use I'm able to employ them with the skill and subtlety of a Swiss watchmaker :-) I suppose there's always The Fleshlight (haha....), but if I had to resort to buying one, it would probably be tantamount to an admission of desperation. Besides, I cringe at the potential loss of face were a lady guest need to use my bathroom and find the said item dangling off the drying line :-)

Skebbie and Psavour......there may be no substitute for toys as far as men are concerned, but I've found that playing with toys at times just plain adds a bit of fun. Though to be honest, DIY gets boring no matter how fun the toys are.

As far as my firsts:
My best friend gave me a black dildo many eons ago. Being the repressed, shy young woman I was, I never used it. My husband was also appalled that a male friend would give me such a thing (god knows why I told him??? but hey, we'd been friends for years and there was a reason we were best friends--I married the wrong man, it seems).

It wasn't until 2 decades later that I bought myself a bright pink bullet and found it fun that my liberation began. I still have it, though never use it, as I've moved onto bigger and better (yes, in some cases bigger is most definitely better).

9:52 am Wednesday, 13th May, 2015 SunShineGirllUK

Glad to hear you make 'changes' WithLove and Yes in a way that does apply to appendages. Hence the need for condoms, as one never knows so i think it's far better to be safe than sorry, isn't it?
SO........ No Glove - No Love
Welcome to the Blogs WithLove. :-) x

10:19 am Wednesday, 13th May, 2015 Skebbie

EG: I'm curious as to whether the said dildo was purchased specifically for its colour, or for some other reason. I've heard some people say that black dildos are much bigger and more satisfying than their counterparts of other colours, but so far I've found no scientific evidence to corroborate this claim.

2:16 pm Wednesday, 13th May, 2015 eroticgoddess

Skebbie--My friend bought it because "It looked cool." It was not big, I have a bright pink one that is much bigger (I'd prefer black to pink, though.....pink is not a sexy color to play with, i think?).

Withlove: a gf recently encouraged me to go with a mains powered wand, she said I'd never look back. And I haven't. Rabbits are 2nd in line, with the rest being distant runners up. My own preference, only, anyone else have other views?

2:07 am Thursday, 14th May, 2015 Turquiose

Thanks Skebbie m'dearest for the advice. I did actually make sure to copy my post just in case it meandered over to the Adult Bermuda Triangle to join the first one.

Nothing wrong with traditional values and being "old skool" as you put it. I am sure there are many willing to give you a hand. The best would be the Martini Hand - anytime, anywhere, anyplace. :)

Quickie off topic sidebar: what is it with this site that keeps making me reference ancient adverts and stuff? Someone told me earlier that he liked underground dance and my immediate response included "underground, overground, wombling free". Has anyone else noticed any changes to their behaviour since coming here? Or is this just me? And why is this sidebar turning into an epic? I should really get more sleep!

Ah, psavour, I'm sure she would have noticed pipping a lovely gentleman such as yourself. But she's probably too polite to comment. Or just too busy. We'll have to wait and see if she swings by here and decides to elucidate us. :)

When it comes to sacrifices, it is possible you may have gone the wrong way with your virgin. I don't mean at all to denigrate your virgin knowledge but I offer a suggestion - apply a thick layer of fresh chocolate mousse all over the sacrifice. Also, taste the chocolate before the mousse is made to check it is orgasmic. And I do mean taste, don't just eat it! I would tell you, I mean suggest. which chocolate to use but despite many minutes googling, I can't find a retailer for the one that made me nearly orgasm. Oh, and if you have some time, once you've moussed your virgin thoroughly, I think maybe some raspberry mousse swirls piped here and there is quite a nice touch. Best of all, you can use frozen raspberries when making the raspberry mousse so you can sacrifice a tasty virgin all year round!

No glove, no love - that made me laugh too! I'm tempted to get the t shirt....

You're very welcome withlove m'dear and thank you for the compliment! I actually think the blogs are the best bit of this site. If blogs had been here (or if they were, if only I'd noticed them), the first very brief foray that I made onto this site many, many, many years ago, my sex life would have been very different!

eroticgoddess, you're making me think I need to go shopping....and soon. Shopping list item 1: bullet of some colour; item 2: mains powered fun wand. Addendum to shopping list: must remember your wise words and get the biggest of both that is available in the known galaxy.

Good night Hubbers...wherever you are.

7:37 am Thursday, 14th May, 2015 Skebbie

Turquoise: As I think you'll rapidly discover, the majority of the regular bloggers will readily seize upon any opportunity to expound at length on any aspect of foodstuffs. The worst offender is chocolate, closely followed (in a similar vein) by Kit-kats.
However, a year or so back there was an inexplicable craze for Nutella. One merely had to mention the word, and the blog degenerated into a kind of slithery and glutinous feeding-frenzy. I think at that time it was responsible for more blog-jacking and inconsequential off-topic digression than anything else :-)

7:39 am Thursday, 14th May, 2015 Skebbie

psavour: I'll be doing my annual Celtic fertility rite at Castlerigg Circle in the Lakes this summer if anyone female cares to join me :-)

First toy ? I'm still struggling to build something meaningful from the Meccano Set I got for my Seventh Birthday !

12:33 pm Thursday, 14th May, 2015 SunShineGirllUK

Build it and they will come Fetch, so get cracking with the Meccano lol ......After all life is a field of dreams, isn't it? :-) x

1:04 pm Thursday, 14th May, 2015 SunShineGirllUK

Can't help but mention Glass toys, heck i have a couple that in my opinion would look just as good as an ornament than some tat that seems to pass for decoration these days and a damn sight more pleasurable may i add ;-) x

4:12 pm Thursday, 14th May, 2015 Skebbie

Are they the more Venetian variety as opposed to the Everest school ? :-)

6:14 pm Thursday, 14th May, 2015 Turquiose

SunShineGirl - thanks for that. I was amused to read somewhere that the best quality ones can last hundreds of years! I wonder if whoever product tested the lasting power of a glass toy was able to walk straight after those hundreds of years?

6:16 pm Thursday, 14th May, 2015 Turquiose

Alas psavour, I can't find where I wrote down the name. I just remember it was single origin Peruvian. Even I did find the name, I don't think I should reveal that sort of information on here. In the wrong hands...!

psavour, I don't follow what you mean. Just like everyone else, I always think a great deal about anything you write. Honest guv. Ahem.

Salstice, you say? I hadn't heard of this but certainly be up for a good boogie. Is the salsa danced on 1 or on 2? ;)

Thanks for background info Skebbie. Maybe the powers that be should set up a chat group for food stuff? We could have virtual food fights!

Fetch1 - perhaps you should hold a Meccano party? Skebbie can bring the nutella.

1:29 am Friday, 15th May, 2015 Skebbie

"Thin"? Perhaps. "Adonis" ??? (muffled laughter........) Well thanks for the positive publicity anyway..... :-)

I'm not averse to food - even desserts. It's just that I have small portions, as I'm not a big strong he-man :-)
I suppose if I were to give up the drink I'd be in better control of my weight, but then life would become so boring :-)

3:04 am Friday, 15th May, 2015 Skebbie

If by "personality plus" you mean "eccentric", then yes I "deffo agree" :-)
Great to have you aboard. Hang around and contribute and the chat will get richer.

9:55 am Friday, 15th May, 2015 Turquiose

Welcome openislandcpl and thanks for commenting on my first blog! Yep I was a virgin hub blogger....

psavour, that doesn't mean Skebbie can't carry the nutella. He can eat something else at Fetch1's meccano party ;)

Skebbie, I so know what you mean about the difficulties of giving up a favourite drink. I couldn't ever give up my large mugs of coffee.

Chrissy, so which one came first? ;)

10:54 am Friday, 15th May, 2015 SunShineGirllUK

'Venetian rather than everest' why of course Skebbie.....Even watched something on TV a while back about venetian made and style sex toys boring old sod that i am ;-) x

11:28 am Friday, 15th May, 2015 Skebbie

The topic of sex toys juxtaposed with an image of your good self could never be boring, Sanshain ;-)
I'm wondering whether the Venetian glass ones are the same as those lasting hundreds of years, to which Turquoise refers??
Here in Japan (and also in China, I gather) dildos go back several millennia and were made from either smooth polished wood or jade (perhaps depending on how posh a lady used them :-)

Returning to my previous citation of Everest, perhaps it could potentially lend a whole new meaning to the term "double glazing" :-)

4:38 am Saturday, 16th May, 2015 Skebbie

Does anyone remember a shampoo for women called "Twice as Lasting" ??
The glass bottle it came in was cylindrical, about 6-7 inches long and had a hemispherical plastic cap that fitted flush with the sides of the bottle. The base of the bottle tapered outwards to create a round reservoir that was about twice as thick as the shaft. I think the idea was that the effects of the shampoo and its built-in conditioner would last twice as long as the average brand. However, the name was undoubtedly an oblique reference to alternative uses for the bottle :-)

5:50 am Saturday, 16th May, 2015 freeforpleasure

Turquoise, Welcome to the world of blogs. I have always confessed they were my first window to the site. I love reading them and some of the bloggers here are just full of wittiness and amazing creativity. Indeed food is a major thing as well as :P
I would never match Psavour eccentric replies (he will forgive me for this comment I know), Skebbie's wisdom, Chocolate's kitkats, etc, etc, etc....but I could only hope and learn :)

In relation to your question, well I have never own one single toy. I have to say I think the real thing is unique. I imagine not even the best minds would ever come close to the texture, shape...OK, now I got carried away haha, but if you do know of a specific brand name that cud match it. Please share, I would be eternally thankful img src='imagesadultemoticons024.gif'

3:34 pm Tuesday, 19th May, 2015 Skebbie

By a strange coincidence, one of my friends on a well known social networking site has just posted a photo of a bottle of Pantene shampoo that seems to be similarly catering for the "baser instincts" of its users :-) Evidently sex continues to sell :-)
