There are few things more powerful than language, and how it's used.
To boost us up. To pull us down. To set us straight.
I have a few that get me in my innermost parts every time I hear them.
BITCH. First off...don't ever call me that. It's the one no no that I refuse to accept. I reported someone in the chatroom the other night for calling me one on the main board, and, I assume due to his response to Admin, he was banned. But the initial impetus was calling me a bitch. Just. Don't. Call. Me. A. Bitch.
BORING. Another word that pulls an inner string and recalls memories I'd rather not deal with. Though few these days call me boring, it has been used against me enough in my time that it is a powerful word to me.
SEXY. I'm not sure why, but this word bothers me. I've never felt sexy, so when someone says I am, I am always sure they are making fun of me.
Words that build me up:
INTELLIGENT. Yes, compliment me on my brain as much as you like. I won't really believe it, but it's so very nice to hear.
FUN. Yea, that I am.
EASY GOING. Ditto. happy go lucky and fun seem to go together, and who can argue against a

Well....one thing that I've never been called is "hunky" (hahaha............). To be honest, I prefer to think that people value me for the "holistic experience", but that can only come from getting to know me, and obviously women who are looking for "hunks" wouldn't be bothered to take that step on the basis o my pics :-) |

People can generally, call me what they like no matter how derogatory. If the day comes that I cannot think of a pithy riposte, then I'll give up and realize that my word power is not what it was. |

Miss Goodnight .I only used the term " sheep shagger " in the heat of battle and in response to being called a soft English pooftah.I do of course know better in the normal scheme of things, but as you are probably aware, the game f rugby gives the opportunity to those who would be gentlemen, to act like utter hooligans for eighty minutes.Perish the thought that I would ever use such an expression on you.....you know I lust after you ! xxxxxxxxx. |

Where I come from, being a sheep-shagger is a badge of pride. In the far-off days when my home town football team managed to scrape into the first division, the TV cameras took great delight in panning out over the crowd to focus on sheep grazing peacefully in the surrounding fields, and the crowd's battle-cry was "sheep-shagger-aggro!!!" On later visits to Wembley, half the town went down in buses carrying plastic inflatable sheep. (This is all true.) So I guess you have to choose your insults carefully or they might lack a certain degree of sting :-) |

Skebbie, ya big hunk, I have to say our chat way back in September was one of the most intelligent & engaging I've had with anyone from the site. Too bad it was only over the phone & not in person over a good bottle of red. Maybe next time we're both in Europe. Happy new year xx |

Minerva, ya bonzer Sheila :-) Takes one to know one, I guess. Funny how you can develop an instant rapport with some people, whereas with others it's like walking on eggshells. Yep it would certainly be good to chew the fat one day face to face. xx |
