Boredom: Digital Leanings of Internet for Make Sexual Gratification Nation of Cammers

3:51 pm Thursday, 19th April, 2007

Our thoughts on the effect of the digital online sexual revolution and webcamming in particular!

Be afraid…be very afraid, as digital masturbatory practices are taking over the planet….well the “online virtual planet” anyway! Any one of us online users surfing adult related sites or even using “over 18” rooms on regular conventional chat providers are constantly bombarded by an ever growing throng of virtual jerkers all seeking immediate visual and sexual self gratification through the use of digital webcams!

“Cam wank anyone?”, “Watch me jerk off on cam!”. “Cum and see my hot new friends strip for you!” are all common examples of the constant harassment we face….and it’s getting worse…day by day….ISP account by ISP account!

Why is this happening? Well…it’s considered safe, easy, and convenient we suppose, but then again so were POP TARTS (unless you burn your mouth or choke on them)…and they haven’t taken over the planet....yet!

This combination of cheap thrills, cheap equipment, and easy and inexpensive access to high internet bandwidth is proving irresistible to many users who soon become addicted to this particular form of sexual indulgence.

Personally, it drives us both mad…..whatever happened to real sex, that you can smell, touch and taste?....and doesn’t anyone just fuck anymore?

We know we do and we aren’t about to stop!

Sure, we accept that camming works for many people and is non-threatening, We also respect peoples’ personal decisions to use webcams, but we actually stopped using internet chat rooms on any regular basis as it was hard to focus on the constantly scrolling screens with cam requests and the deluge of PM’s to “turn our cam on”!

We do actually own a webcam ourselves, it’s never used though!

We are also reasonably certain that there are many people out there who feel the same way about webcams!

The whole “digital revolution” thing is both exciting and scary at the same time, the birth of home computing and the internet is absolutely one of the most important things ever to happen in the history of mankind. The satisfaction that digital technology brings to people of all ages, races and cultures, linking us all together in an online global fraternity is fantastic and not to be taken lightly…..but what would YOU rather go for….an X-Box or the G-Spot?

I have fond memories of the early days of the internet, especially the old BBS (Bulletin Board Service) days used extensively before the internet as we know it today developed.

People used these boards in many different ways, but also as a means of sexual contact with “likeminded” others. You would create a message then transfer it for posting on a “board” that people would then connect with to read the messages. This was all extremely basic, non graphical, and text based, so very different from today’s graphical/visual methods…and infinitely slower too.

I remember business trips to Houston Texas, in the mid nineties and staying in my usual hotel, where every Saturday night the hotel night club opened it’s doors to a well established adult BBS group, comprising of people from every sexual persuasion you could imagine, all congregating in the one club, meeting up for a night of fun, physical contact and I suppose debauchery afterward! These people all initially made contact through the use of text messages on a board, but their real kick was all getting together on a Saturday night…so different from what is happening today…and boy was it fun and interesting in that nightclub, even as a spectator!

I guess a good comparison to make between BBS and today’s Internet is like the difference between the old Polaroid camera and the new digital cameras that we all use now…mmmmm…and aren’t they worth their weight in gold! Yes….even though we hate webcamming…we certainly love our digital cameras at home, we have three, six if you include the mobile phone cams!

I also have fantastic memories of early internet chat room days, when they were all solely text based. Especially, the old Nerve chat rooms that unfortunately were closed down in 2002 for cost reasons. There you could meet some fine people, intelligent, friendly and very sexual people, have great conversations, learn everything you ever needed to know about any sexual persuasion and fetish, and also indulge in text based virtual sex if you were so inclined, which I personally regard as a great, yet unfortunately dying, skill. Well written words can say so much, and also express so much emotion and passion, even reading between the lines! Even better…you were never bothered by sexbots and gangs of booters, unlike other more well known chat sites.

And then we have today’s adult chat rooms, most of which are graphically, audio, and video based, so people write little of any consequence, instead just posting incessant links and short statements usually in abbreviated and bad English to their email addresses, websites and Instant Messengers, so they can get on cam and jack off! Not to mention the hundreds of silly emoticons (what a horrible word) and strange sounds that people like to use, just to add to the overall disruptive and unintelligible mix!

For me the whole adult chat thing is becoming incredibly transient and opportunistic and for us as a couple we use it solely as a way of making an initial and brief contact with people, who we will then hopefully meet later physically, to sit and chat in the real world and see if there is any real chemistry between us, before we take anything further sexually.

Isn’t that what finding new sexual friends online should all be about?

We think so anyway, and we would love to hear any comments you may have on our thoughts!
