YONI TANTRA, LINGA PUJA
The man performing the yoni-tantric puja sits in front of and between the pundai-stri's opened legs clearly showing the splayed vaginal lips. With complete concentration and with unwavering awareness, the worshipper will go through a cycle of ritual actions as he engages in Yoni Tantra, each of which - once more - represents one of the five elements of the cosmos. With the element ether in mind, he will move his hands across most of her body in large circles, ranging from her legs to her breasts, repeating these movement over and over. During the next stage, and with the element air in mind, he will restrict the movements of his hands to her belly and thighs; once more repeating his strokes several times. During stage three, with the attention becoming focused now on the Yoni or her pundai (vagina) and representing the element fire, the genital area is stroked - again and again - in a repetitive upward movement. Next, the direction of stroking is changed and, symbolizing the element water, the Yoni's head or clitoris is stroked downward. Finally, after a process that may have taken the better part of an hour, the element earth is given expression by pressing one hand, softly but firmly, against the woman's Yoni; resting there until the ritual finds its natural end. The climax of this ritual is the profuse delivery of vaginal libations, which are then licked and swallowed by the 'pujari' or the man performing the Tantric Yoni Puja.
