Dear Sissy, Difficult situation. My advice of course, learn from the lesson. If I am honest, I tend to be very reserved and very cautious all the time. I know pretty unfair for genuine and real people but I think it is important to build rapport and set up certain feelings and lines of communication with people before "anything" happening.

I am glad that you are talking to the police and hopefully, at the end it will not be more than a really scary episode in ur life. If things came to worse. Well, I doubt anyone will throw stones at you and I am smiling at your attitude for sure. At the end of the day, we have all made mistakes and trust the wrong people sometimes.

I think she may be calling your bluff. Sounds like a scammer who wouldnt go through the hassle perhaps? I know of it happening to somebody else in the past. They were threatened with something similar but nothing came of it.

I've got to agree with the ladies about honesty and being upfront. I mean even if you're a sociopath you'll inevitably be "found out". When I was a kid we always said, "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime". Fortunately I had a very unfortunate childhood with two older brothers who had some sort of pact that no matter what they did or what they tore up they would always point the finger at me.
Seeing as I had ADHD the chances of me getting through a day without screwing up were slim, the chances of me making it through without me screwing up or one of my brothers screwing up were nil. Corporal punishment doesn't do crap to a kid in that situation because I knew I could try with all my might but the nasty truth was I was going to get an ass beating no matter what so I may as well hold up my chin and say, "Yeah, I did it! What are you going to do about it?" And then grit my teeth and get it over with.
As I got older I found 1) I'm too dumb to keep up with lies and 2) the shit in my head about how people perceived me was mostly just ego. The truth of the matter was that the people that loved me unconditionally were goin to support me, the fair weather friends most likely would show their true colors and probably needed to be out of my life anyways and 3) I'm really not front page news material so most likely if in your shoes and it was blown up on my job and around town, people may snicker once or twice and then 2-3 days later they'd forget I even exist.
I would think whomever this is hasn't had an attorney up her ass because I would guess a civil suit could hurt her much more than it hurts you.
Who knows, this may be a blessing in disguise? It could be that someone in your life has been hoping you were into whatever just because they are too and this may be the thing that breaks the ice and let's you out of the shadows and enjoying life more. Like you said, at worst there's a bunch of pics of you on the web but let's face it, how many people will truly take time out of their day to gawk at your hairy ass? Besides, if it's on a website you can check it through Whois and find the site owner, if it's on a forum just drop em a line and tell them to pull em.

did you not say you gave a fake name etc? or did you finally get coerced into giving real name etc? If you set up a fake persona you have the option to back out at any point without comeback.. and if it works well you only need spill that your name is false.. with so much going on online I never use my real name for anything- especially mass media. It sjust not prudent anymore.

Sooooooo far it's going ooooookaaaaay! The personpeople are still mailing me and posting photos but so far they're not public...biggest issue sofar is resisting the urge to respond!

Ultimately they don't know my name or address and only know a rough area from my IP address. The photos look like me a bit...but the only one who'd recognise the location is the wife (note to self: don't do x-rated piccies in the bedroom!).

I am getting sites taken down within about a day, and using various photo search sites to desperately trawl sites for hideous piccies of me!

It's stressful and annoying :( Buuuuuuut live an learn. "Learn from sissy" can be a routine blog update?! Lol

Right there are three scenarios, and you need to think, but not overthink each one.

Scenario one. Nothing happens. All you have to do is manage the stress of not knowing if the bomb will go off. This will get better over time.

Scenario two. Pictures get posted. But you say that they cannot be posted direct to you or family so you need to ensure that it stays that way. Unless the perpetrator is from NSA or GCHQ the IP addy will give them nothing specific. Do not respond to anything remotely linked to this situation.

Scenario three. Your familycolleagues find out. You have two options - flatly deny or fess up. Only you know what sort of person you are and, perhaps more importantly what sort of people they are.

Here's the thing. Nothing that happens will fundamentally harm you in the long run unless you let it. Relax and remember you are amongst fellow sinners here!!

What are they posting the photos on that they will be available to the friends and family that you are worried about? they can get taken down quickly or you block them so they can do too much there. Other main stream social media is the same so it is more the specific sites such as these that they can get posted on.

It's a bit like to silly spam mails for the well known site hack, it is all a big of a scam in the hope you will fold and once you give them a little you will get a lot more people blackmailing you as they sell the pictures on and your details.

Don't give into it now and if (big if) it does come out then you will know who your friends are and who just rolls their eyes and carry on

Naaaaaaaaw thanks Lilith (& all). It's a definite learning for me - it was criminally insane of me to do it, but the person was immensely clever!
