So said Messrs Jagger & Richards. In a moment of clarity from their dazed & confused rock'n'roll minds, did they discover a pearl of wisdom that Confucius would've been proud of? Or as most people would suspect, were they completely off their tits and just wrote any old bollocks that produced a bloody great song?
Has there been a moment in your life when you've wanted something or someone so bad but for whatever reason it just has not been possible to achieve your ultimate goal? And have you, as in the song instead by luck or coincidence, found something or someone even better than the original target your lust and want was aimed at?
Personally I'll be surprised if anyone has but then that wouldn't be the first (or probably last) time I've been surprised on this site! If I've got what I've needed instead of what I've wanted, then blimey it must've been bloody bad to start with!
But maybe the Midnight Ramblers weren't being so obvious? Instead perhaps it could be looked at as if you got what you wanted immediately, the excitement and intensity would not even come close to comparison to the same feelings if you were made to wait a long time? Hopefully during which time the anticipation would keep building so that when eventually you do "get what you want" the experience would be far greater than it could ever have been originally!
So which is it? Is there always a better alternative? Is time the ultimate aphrodisiac? Is it either?
Or just maybe "It's only rock and roll (but I like it)".......................

In my opinion it is good to have something you want in life as it gives you something to strive for, it also make the moment you are lucky enough to achieve or attain the object of your desire far more sweet. I have something that i have had my eye on for a long time and like StarG Said i am holding onto hope that one day i will get what i want and i have a feeling it is exactly what i need.

So it appears that you can't always get what you want except for those who have got it but didn't know exactly what they wanted. However if you do get what you want after a long time of wanting it it is probably better than you ever thought it could be while wanting it. But if you do get it you're either wrong or there's something else you want unless you've already had it and want it again?????? |
