Alas Graham i couldn't book the time off my work or i would have travelled down and sipped a few drams and shared a few laughs.x

1:46 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

If it had been next month I would have joined you :-)

4:43 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

Maybe I should host a social when I get back to Yorks. I can probably sleep 7-8 at a pinch, but they must be female and willing to bunk up with me ;-)

5:07 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

As most people are aware,I suffer from acute shyness and tend to be a simpering wallflower. If and when I get back to the UK however,I intend to present myself at as many social gatherings as possible.
You have been warned !

6:10 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

I was busy in Cornwall being sit on by a sheagull ... It didn't feel very lucky.

6:16 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

Blimey - big seagull if it sat on you :)

I keep missing the socials for some reason, would love to attend more to get to know more people.

I travel most of the country with work so would be noce to have aquantances in different places.

6:53 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

It does seem a bit strange that inhabitants of one of the largest cities in the world couldn't hop on a tube or bus and show their face but I guess that's their choice....maybe it was just really good tele that night?

Was it a really big seagull that was sat on you Luv2 or are you just really tiny? How did you escape its fishy grasp?

7:05 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

A bird shits on me and you ask how big it was!! ?
Traumatised I am ... traumatised.

7:09 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

Graham: Just out of curiosity......how are these socials organized? Is a notice put up in the forums, or is it all decided in chat? As I hardly look at either of those places, I'd be unlikely to pick up on any events.
The people I met in the past just arranged to have a drink through PMs.

7:18 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

You're not still stuck underneath it are you Luv2? Want me to call International Rescue or Hong Kong Phoeey? ....... Other cartoon superheroes are available.

7:18 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

Luv2: Unsure whether the debated size was that of the bird or the shit :-) I guess you wouldn't indeed have felt too lucky if you'd got buried in a massive pile of guano that had descended from a cloudless sky.

Reminds me of an amusing little event a few years back...........
Japanese normally cannot enunciate the "si" sound, as the closest sound in their syllabary is "shi". I was having a walk in the park with my two small daughters, and they stopped to stroke a cute Pomeranian that was refusing to cooperate with its owner, who kept pointing her finger at it and shouting "Shit! Shit!"

7:52 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

I can't come because I'm only an echo of the ghost in the machine. ...

9:05 am Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

Can we organise some mid week socials?

5:17 pm Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

Almost the end, sassy! lol. You missed the last pub (10 minutes) and the walk to the train station. If there was an orgy, I wasn't invited....

I DID try posting on here about it but it was rejected.

I am suffering massive rejection syndrome.

7:05 pm Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

I suppose you had to be there??

9:09 pm Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

Knew I left too early......... :-

It was probably Sassy leading everyone astray again img src="imagesadultemoticons012.gif"

11:06 pm Wednesday, 27th August, 2014

I am totally fascinated by what a sheagul is, why they sit on people and do you only get them in Cornwall? But thats just me lolimg src="imagesadultemoticons021.gif"

I think it's a drunken seabird Roger which is closely related to a Shag.
Migrates to Cornwall for summer bank holidays and nests mainly on masked bloggers ..... Very rare and very traumatic for those involved!

8:13 am Thursday, 28th August, 2014

Would someone kindly inform me when the next social is and if I can reserve a kitkat please

4:45 pm Thursday, 28th August, 2014

Very informative Joe, many thanks, making note not to wear a mask if visiting Cornwall on a BH lol
img src="imagesadultemoticons012.gif" Luv2, hope you are paying attention to all this info if you want to avoid a repeatimg src="imagesadultemoticons021.gif"

4:58 pm Thursday, 28th August, 2014

no, sassy was only intent on leading one astray! But as far as I could tell, left with her halo intact.....

7:29 pm Thursday, 28th August, 2014

I nearly went to a social once - even had a squeeze to go with. We sorted travel and accommodation etc etc etc.

Then someone who had fallen out with my temporary NSA plus one got upset. The organisers told me that while I would be welcome she wasn't. Bearing in mind that I am not completely stupid I took this rather badly.

Since then I have definitely cooled to the whole idea.

Unless, that is, someone can persuade me otherwise!

8:44 pm Thursday, 28th August, 2014

So, Luv2 is now a Cornish smuggler, the plot deepens lol.
Im sure Sassy would never lead anyone astray, she is much too busy abusing Roger for any of that sort of thingimg src="imagesadultemoticons012.gif"

1:18 am Friday, 29th August, 2014

"Unless, that is, someone can persuade me otherwise! "

If all else fails, you could always show up for me and Ron's "all good blokes together for beer and backslapping fun" social in the King's Head opposite Cranston's :-)
However, if you bring a squeeze I suppose we could shag her in the toilets.

6:35 am Friday, 29th August, 2014

In that case sassy I shall let you off but make sure you try harder next time! ;-)

Never thought Luv2 was a smuggler but you learn something everyday. But what does she smuggle? I reckon it could be peanuts especially on the left side.... It's all starting to make sense!

8:14 am Friday, 29th August, 2014

Mac - yep you are overthinking it!

Anyway it's water under the bridge, but I suppose it demonstrates that even though we profess to be enlightened and liberated there are still the same less pleasant undercurrents that exist outside the lifestyle.

9:00 am Saturday, 30th August, 2014

If somethings worth doing sassy it's worth doing well and worth doing hard, that applies to virtually everything in life.....but I'm sure you already know that ;-)

And I agree with Lishy it was organised well and I saw it constantly advertised and mentioned on the hub you both done well to arrange it and I don't know how else you could've promoted it better.

Sounds bonzer Lishy say G'day from me and stick another prawn on the bar-b xx

4:53 pm Saturday, 30th August, 2014

Its true, couldnt be any better abused anywhere by anyone, what a boss I have, simply the best! lol xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

11:19 am Sunday, 31st August, 2014

For the record, I do not want to see Lishy's white bits. Keep em under wraps girlfriend!

11:30 am Sunday, 31st August, 2014

Skebbie and Ron's "all good blokes together for beer and backslapping fun" social, aka MOG gathering sounds like an event not to be missed :)

1:52 pm Sunday, 31st August, 2014

img src="imagesadultemoticons001.gif"

5:40 pm Sunday, 31st August, 2014

Minerva: Suggest you show up and give it a go. The toilets are always an option :-)

10:44 pm Sunday, 31st August, 2014

I think the main problem was the fact it was bank holiday weekend and most people were away.

Also as Sassy pointed out...the only way we can advertise it is in the chat room and there are so many that don't use that function. Maybe next time you could ask admin if there is a way to put it on the home page so more will see it or in their monthly newsletter that is sent via email. SiteAdminWilliam has been talking about doing a site social so he may be able to help with the next one :)

The reason the Newcastle social was a success Doris is because it was done on a site where there are more users!!

2:41 am Monday, 1st September, 2014

think i've just about got over the shock... Skebbie were you suggestingoffering a shag in the toilets??? I'm a classy chick ya know. A bloody lady in fact, and don't you forget it!

2:51 am Monday, 1st September, 2014

5:43 am Monday, 1st September, 2014

Aye ah can be a bit roof arand the edges at times, boot av got an art o gold.

10:49 am Tuesday, 2nd September, 2014

looks like i'll be start putting the brum meets to blogs as it seems many people are on here more than the chat room..weither it makes a difference, only time will tell img src="imagesadultemoticons025.gif"
