Dear Gilli, I agree 100% with you' There is a world of difference between friendly, consensual situations and coercion.
No woman should be forced into anything against her will be it a loveless marriage,wearing dress prescribed by religion,prostitution,being trafficked ,having her clitoris removed or her vagina sewn up.Being forced to have too many babies to provide unpaid labour,being denied education because of her sex and at the very basic level,being ordered what to do and how to think.
I couldn't care less if we as Westerners, are considered decadent. If that means that a woman is giving herself and her love freely to you and being a partner in the true sense of the word, because that's what she wants to do,then I'm happy to be called decadent in order to experience and enjoy such mutual fulfillment .

I am a firm believer that "NO means NO"......Sadly in the world we live a womans voice and her opinions seem to count for nothing and their voices go unheard. Alas Star is quite right that these atrocities are not only happening in other countries but right here in our own back door (country). Until changes are made to our judicial system and sentencing takes a tough line towards the crime commited then i fear the likelihood of stamping out these sort of crimes towards women are a long way off.

As well as the big stick of criminal law, this type of nastiness needs to be culturally unacceptable among all the men and women of every culture.
